If that is the case, maybe the opposite can be true as well. Maybe all the things I’ve written and said is because deep down, I’m actually a good guy. This is the kind of logic that will get you into hot water. I won’t claim to be a great guy as there are women who are justified in their belief that I’m an asshole. Everything I’ve written and said is a part of me one way or another.
This isn’t unique to me since everybody does it. The way we act around our friends is different than how we act around our grandparents. The way we act in front of our boss is different than how we act in front of our colleagues. We all have multiple versions of ourselves that we posses at all times but can only utilize one at any given moment. For example, I could stay home and read a book on a Friday night, or go out to the bars, get drunk and have a one night stand. While I have the potential to do both of these on any given night, I can’t do both on the same night.
So, who am I? That’s the million dollar question. I can’t give you that answer. I’m not for the timid. This is trial by fire. The only way you’ll ever know is to find out for yourself. As Hemingway said, “The best way to find out if you can trust somebody is to trust them.” I could be a disappointment and I could be everything you’ve ever dreamed of, or more likely, a mixture of both.
